PRIMALL MEDIA AND CLINIQUE GET "HAPPY"
There is an immediacy to mall marketing communication that traditional media often lacks. As it can strategically intercept the shopper with a bold advertising message, it has the ability to sway purchasing decisions on the spot. Due to the proven success of this media, Clinique has renewed its current national mall campaign with Primall Media for a further six months. "Mall advertising is an integral part of our overall advertising strategy, "says Kerry Haupt Clinique's Senior Product Manager. "As a marketing platform, it has the unique ability to influence our consumers' purchasing behaviour - at the right time and in the right place. It's also an effective channel for reaffirming Clinique's product offerings in a way that is novel and exciting."
TRINCO ON THE GO WITH COMUTANET MEGA BUSES

IMAGING FOR CHANGE
Last October, a group of photographers and professionals from the digital-printing industry gathered at Digital Pond, a San Francisco-based design and print-production house, to produce a photography exhibit depicting women in the developing world. The exhibit, titled, “I Am Powerful,” is the result of a partnership between CARE, the humanitarian organization fighting global poverty with a special focus on women, and Hewlett-Packard. CARE officially launched its “I Am Powerful” campaign—an effort designed to connect women in the United States to women in impoverished countries—last March on International Women’s Day 2006.

WORLD’S FIRST CHOCOLATE BILLBOARD
Thorntons (a British chocolate company) unveiled an 390kg (860 pound) pure chocolate billboard in London. Actually, make that the world's first chocolate billboard. The billboard was 4.4m x 2.9m (14.5 ft x 9.5 ft) and was made from 10 chocolate bunnies, 72 giant chocolate eggs and 128 chocolate panels. During assembly, one of the panels fell off and five bunnies were broken (luckily there were spares).
BILLBOARDS IN SPACE
If Net#work BBDO pulls off its request to NASA, it will be the advertising coup of the century - the first sub-orbital billboard in space to greet the passengers of Richard's Branson's latest offering, Virgin Galactic SpaceShip2, due to make its maiden voyage in 2008.
TURNING CMYK INTO GREEN
While your machines print in CMYK, what you really are printing is green—the colour of money. But now, “printing green” is gaining a whole new meaning. Today, doing business is becoming more and more about being environmentally responsible and producing your products in way that is healthy and minimizes the resources needed—whether you’re in the business of producing Nike tennis shoes or outputting a wide-format building wrap that promotes that footwear.

In addition, a major focus of the campaign is to educate people about the importance of completing treatment.
BEAMVERTISING
A new and exciting form of advertising, recently used in the centre of Rotterdam. Beamvertising is not a new concept but this chewing gum brand sure gave it a nice swing. They beamed the skateboarder from an open van along the sides of buildings in the centre of the city with the slogan 'Can you make it to the pack?’ The project was done by PPGH/JWT, and the advertiser is Sportlife.

TIPS AND TRICKS
MOVE ALL YOUR STUFF TO A NEW MAC — QUICK
In the past, if you bought a new Mac, moving all your files, music, photos, and well...everything from your old Mac to your new Mac was quite a production, and I saw it reduce many an NFL lineman to tears.
EMAIL ATTACHMENTS MADE EASY
If you want to attach a file to an email message, you can drag the file directly to Mail’s icon in your Dock. This opens Mail and creates a brand-new email message window with that file already attached. Sweet! Better yet, even if you drag multiple attachments, they all attach to just one email message (rather than creating one message for each attachment, as in previous versions of Mac OS X).
FINDING WHERE THE © AND ™ SYMBOLS LIVE
Since nearly the beginning of Mac-dom, when you wanted to find out which key combination produced a font’s special characters (stuff like ©, ™, £, ¢, ‰, ƒ, etc.), you used a utility called KeyCaps. More than a decade later, KeyCaps is still a part of Mac OS, but a better way to access these special characters is through the Character Palette.
FROM EPS TO PDF IN NO TIME FLAT
This trick is pretty much just for graphic designers who work with EPS images from applications like Adobe illustrator, Coreldraw for Mac, Freehand, and Photoshop. If you want to convert your EPS image instantly into a PDF (ideal for emailing), just drag it onto Apple’s Preview application icon in your dock (or in your Applications folder) and Mac OS X automatically converts your Postscript file to a PDF on the fly. When you choose save from the File menu, it will save as a PDF.
SOME MOERSE FUNNY STUFF!
CHOCOLATES SHAPED LIKE HEP-C
Food hackers at the Sentimental Objects in Attempts to Befriend a Virus have created a jar of gourmet chocolates shaped like the Hepatitis C virus: A model of the virus was printed as a rapid prototype from a 3D algorithmic illustration of the virus from the Protein Data Bank. The chocolates were then cast into the molecular form. Part of the Sentimental Objects in Attempts to Befriend a Virus series, the truffles do not carry hepatitis C.
PREFAB HOUSING BY IKEA
n Sweden, Ikea has built little housing develpments composed of its BoKlok prefab apartment blocks -- now they're moving the idea to the UK. BoKlok homes don't exactly come in flatpacks, but they're not far off. The timber-framed buildings are almost entirely prefabricated. They are usually brought to the site on the back of trucks as pre-assembled units, like Portakabins, with the interiors already fitted out. Each apartment is made up of two of these units, which are simply moved into position by crane. Put on the roof and exterior wall cladding, plumb and wire it in, and it's ready to live in.
PANDA PORN DIDN'T WORK
Last week, I posted that vets at the Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand were hoping that panda porn would encourage a bear named Chuang Chuang to mate with his partner Lin Hui. After the dirty movies didn't do the trick, the vets went for artificial insemination. Apparently they won't know the results for several months.
KEITH RICHARDS SNORTED HIS DAD
See update below. Rolling Stone Keith Richards told the NME music mag that he once snorted a bit of his old man's ashes. "The strangest thing I've tried to snort?" the Sun quoted Richards as saying in its early Wednesday edition. "My father. I snorted my father. He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared. It went down pretty well and I'm still alive."
FUNNY SIGNS
They lurk everywhere - just waiting to catch us unsuspecting. On street corners, on the sides of buildings, on cars and even in the middle of veld - watch out, they will leave you laughing helplessly...
