FESPA DIGITAL PRINTING EUROPE ATTRACTS STRONG ASIA-PACIFIC AUDIENCE
FESPA’s second Digital Printing Europe exhibition, which took place from 1st to 3rd April 2008 at Geneva’s Palexpo exhibition centre, attracted an increasingly diverse international audience, including a significant number of screen and digital wide format printers from Asia-Pacific, looking to explore the latest innovations in the sector.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE A BIG FOCUS AT INFOCOMM 2008
Enterprise buyers and technology managers from educational institutions, companies, and government from around the world will be attending InfoComm 08, a professional audiovisual tradeshow, June 18-20 in Las Vegas, Nev.  Conference officials expect more than 32,000 attendees at this year's show.

 

SENSATIONAL SUCCESS: MORE THAN 165,000 TRADE VISITORS AT LIGHT+BUILDING 2008
The 5th Light+building in Frankfurt am Main closed its doors on 11th April after setting a sensational trade-fair record. More than 165,000 visitors (2006: 135,000) came to the international trade fair for architecture and technology to see the vast range of products and services for the fields of lighting, electrical engineering and house and building automation presented by 2,173 exhibitors.

The Digital Signage Association has published ‘Retail Digital Signage ROI: Finding the break-even point,’ an exclusive research report that uses real-world numbers to estimate ROI and benefits for various types of retail.

 

DIGITAL SIGNAGE DAYS AT VISCOM FRANKFURT 2008
Frankfurt/Düsseldorf. After the huge success of the first Digital Signage Days at the Düsseldorf viscom in 2007, the offer for visitors will be doubled this year. At viscom Frankfurt 2008, which will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2008 at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre, there will be two Digital Signage Days.

The International Sign Association’s International Sign Expo was named to Tradeshow Week magazine’s prestigious ‘Tradeshow Week 200’ list for the sixth consecutive year, jumping three slots to its current ranking as the 103rd largest exposition in the nation. Previously, ISA’s Expo ranked: 106 (2007); 121 (2006); 125 (2005); 132 (2004); and 142 (2003).

Clear Channel Outdoor has announced a deal that will see 40" LCDs installed in 1000 UK pub and bar sites during 2008. The nationwide network, to be called 'Clear Channel Socialite' will, according to Rob Atkinson, Managing Director at Clear Channel Outdoor UK, be the first premium in-bar advertising screen network of high quality, portrait digital poster sites with the capability of streaming static, animated, full motion video and real-time content in pubs and bars.

SAMSUNG BEGINS MASS PRODUCING A NEW 1.2M (46’) DIGITAL SIGNAGE PANEL
Intent on producing the most innovative technology for digital information displays (DIDs), Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced that it has begun mass producing a 1.2m (46in) ‘high bright’ digital signage panel – the brightest LCD panel in the world.

Jamie O'Shea of Supetouch visited Beijing and posted a photo essay of the street food. The images are beautifully gross. Black scorpions, seahorses, rat kebabs, lizard kebabs, and brains... lunchtime!
