MACTAC WORLDWIDE AWARDS 2008
The MACtac Worldwide Awards were created to reward excellence in the field of visual communication, help the industry grow and offer new ideas to end-users. The Asian judging session of the 6th MACtac Worldwide Awards took place in Bangkok in April, with over 200 finalists selected from thousands of entries.

City by-laws in Cape Town that force performers, artists, theatres or event organisers to pay up to R49 to display a single poster are ruining up-and-coming artists' chances of attracting large audiences, says a top city performer.

ISA HOSTS INDUSTRY EVENTS IN JULY
The International Sign Association (ISA) will present its second annual Supplier/Distributor Conference July 29-30, 2008, at the Hilton Lisle Hotel in Naperville, Ill., just 30 minutes from O'Hare International Airport. The pay TV channel is advertising the launch of its weekly series offerings Chuck, Army Wives and Eli Stone via TLC’s captive and uncluttered platform of washroom advertising.

COMUTANET ADVERTISES REGENT FINANCIAL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO COMMUTERS
To communicate the financial services offered by Regent to South Africans from all walks of life, particularly the emerging middle market, Regent commissioned ComutaNet to brand 15 buses. The financial services company elected to brand buses traversing areas where they seek to expand with motivating creative.  

LESEDI FM CONTRACTS COMUTANET TO RATCHET UP AUDIENCE
Lesedi FM, the SABC South Sotho radio station with a large Free State footprint, commissioned ComutaNet to display its call-to-action on 16 megabuses used by, and amongst, their targeted listeners. The creative minds behind the campaign leveraged images of several of Lesedi FM’s radio announcers for the promotion.

OUTDOOR ART-VERTISING FOR SPRITE
Sprite, one of the top-ranking Coca-Cola Company soft drinks worldwide, has endorsed its mark in South Africa with the massive, hand-painted, 7.7m x 100m Clear Channel Outdoor wall mural on the M1 South highway in Johannesburg.  Sprite has a strong appeal to young people and the position of the wall mural, just below Wits University, is perfectly sited.
