SIGN AFRICA PREMIERS IN THE EASTERN CAPE
For the first time, Sign Africa will be hosted in the Eastern Cape to showcase all the latest developments and trends in the signage, screenprint, graphics, point-of-sale and large format digital print industries for the region. The product day, which takes place on Thursday 24 July, will be a 1-day event at the Feather Market Centre in Port Elizabeth.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE: ADVERTISERS ENTER CHINA MARKET
Group M’s Media Report states, ‘China is set to take over from the United States in 2008 as the biggest source of growth in global ad spending. Although the United States remains a much larger advertising market over all, China will account for 24 percent of new spending worldwide, compared with 20 percent for the United States.’

The giant that supplies spare parts to the vast taxi market, Federal Mogul, has commissioned commuter marketing specialist, ComutaNet, to promote its products to taxi owners and drivers at taxi ranks and other commuter integration hubs. Apart from increased awareness for Federal Mogul, an additional cash prize for participants will cement the brand with this target market.

Premium Italian beer brand Peroni, is creating a lasting impression on business executives and travellers heading into Cape Town International airport. The 443sqm (113m/w x 3.9m/h) hoarding is, in its simplicity, striking and clear in its communication.  

COMUTANET HELPS SABC’S UMHLOBO BUILD LISTENERSHIP
Umhlobo Wenene, an SABC Xhosa radio station, and commuter marketing company, ComutaNet, branded 15 full back buses in the Eastern Cape, Umhlobo’s principal footprint. The campaign runs from 1st Mar 2008 till the end of August 2008.

BRITTEN BANNERS' BANNERRAIL SYSTEMS FACILITATES LARGE-FORMAT BANNER INSTALLATION
NASCAR fans that entered the Daytona Speedway to see the Winn-Dixie 250, on July 4, and the Sprint Cup Series-Coke Zero 400, on the next day, were greeted by large-format banners printed and installed via Britten Banners Inc.

WOERMANN & BROCK USE X-BOARD FOR IN-STORE SIGNAGE
Woermann and Brock, a Namibian retail group, has used signage made from Xanita’s X-Board for their supermarket displays. The project was completed by Premier Signs in Rehoboth, Namibia, and is the first of four more to come for the Woermann and Brock stores.
