MAIZEY PLASTICS – GROWING THEIR BUSINESS IN KZN Maizey Plastics have just opened a brand new 4400sqm branch in Pinetown, KwaZulu Natal. This branch will consist of a 2800sqm logistics warehouse and 1600sqm Sales Office. The branch will be one of two logistical centres for Maizey Plastics in South Africa, and will be servicing the whole of the KwaZulu Natal area. With the logistics in place, clients from the region will have easier access to stock, quicker turnaround times, as well as fast and efficient collections.
NO MORE FIRES USING LECIP’S OUTDOOR, FIRE SAFE, MASSIVE ELECTRICITY SAVING ELECTRONIC CONVERTER Six fires in Durban and surrounds over six weeks is not giving neon signage a good name or is it good for the neon sign business. Lecip’s recently introduced fire safe, outdoor, freestanding electronic converter switches off within half a second when detecting a fire and won’t be switched on again until the problem has been rectified, removing the possibility of fires due to poor installation or damage.

GUINESS WORLD RECORD FOR MYK PRESCOTT Myk Prescott, owner of local neon supply shop Just Neon, has been informed that his attempt at setting the Guiness world record for the greatest distance travelled in a Go Kart, in 24 hours, is official. A certificate has been issued stating ‘The greatest distance by kart in 24 hours outdoors is 1,152.54 km (716.15 miles) achieved by Myk Prescott (South Africa) at the Bidgestone Adrenalin Raceway in Vereeniging, Gauteng Province, South Africa, on 27 – 28 September 2008.’
BUGATTI-FRB HAS JAWS DROPPING AT SIGN AFRICA DURBAN Jetseal has reported jaw-dropping results on the print quality of the Bugatti-FRB non curl PVC. This is according to many of their Durban clients who saw the material at the recent Sign Africa exhibition in Durban. Jetseal ran their Bugatti-FRB on a Mimaki JV-130 at a 4-pass mode with outstanding results. Arriving 8 April 2009 will be their range of pigmented vinyl, cast vinyl and overlam for vehicle applications.
2010’S FIRST LARGE OUTDOOR SITE - WIDEOPEN PLATFORM AND SONY Promoting its sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and its range of Bravia Motionflow TV’s, electronics giant Sony has secured the first official 2010 outdoor advertising site. The company will dominate Wideopen Platform’s iconic 850sqm Melrose Arch platform leading up to the much anticipated FIFA 2010 World Cup Soccer Tournaments.
ADREACH GIVES CRIME THE FINGER Outdoor media company The ADreach Group has taken a stand against crime in South Africa via a R1.6 million sponsorship of Street Pole Ads advertising in support of Primedia's Crime Line Campaign.
eNEWS CHANNEL SIGNS TWO YEAR ADVERTISING DEAL WITH PRIMALL MEDIA Beginning with an initial eight month contract in June last year to launch e.tv’s24 hour news channel, the broadcaster, based on the campaign’s overall success, has confirmed it will continue to make use of Primall Media’s platform for a further two year period. The contract is effective from April 2009 and will be up for re-negotiation in March 2011.
