In 1985 Alfred Wacker, the head of marketing in OSRAM at the time, and his team presented the first energy-saving bulb with integrated, electronic ballast at the Hannover Messe Industrie. SOME MOERSE COOL STUFF!

EMOTICONS FOR YOUR CAR
Tell the driver behind you what you REALLY think. Currently, we have very few gestures that can accurately communicate how we're feeling to others on the road. Allow us to review them: Raised hand, open palm, glance in rearview mirror: "Thank you for letting me in." Sweep of hand outward from body: "Go ahead, I'll wait." Hands thrown in the air: "I give up!!" Hands up, shoulders raised, head cocked: "I don't know what to think of this situation." Middle finger extended: "You're #1."

10 THINGS TO DO WITH FLOPPY DISKS
Chances are you'll have a few old floppies hanging around from the early 2000s, but I doubt you'll be using them for storing data bytes. Average floppies hold a not-so-incredible 1.44 MB - that's about 2 large pictures or half of a short song. However, they do have more value as iconic pieces of geek culture. Besides their obvious potential as equipment in games of office Frisbee, we have come up with a few cunning ideas for re-purposing them.
