FUJIFILM TO SHOWCASE CREATIVE MEDIA APPLICATIONS

Fujifilm will give visitors to its stand (E56) at Viscom Paris the opportunity to take part in its ‘em experience’ and also to see its recently launched process independent colour control system, ‘Pro-File’, which standardises colour between screen and inkjet production.

In order for visitors to fully understand how different media can work on various surfaces, a ‘test-drive’ wall will feature samples of indoor and outdoor surfaces commonly used for posters and signage, including brick, plaster, plastic, glass and even a car door. Visitors will be able to apply the various media to see first-hand the results that can be achieved with the hundreds of products within the em range.

‘We feel that by demonstrating with real life scenarios just how the many varieties of media work under different day-to-day situations, customers gain a much better understanding of the em range and the various applications that we cater for,’ says Jérôme Delplanque, commercial director, Fujifilm Sericol France. ‘em aligns with Fujifilm’s philosophy of providing best-in-class, application-driven solutions, and visitors will be able to see the performance benefits, underpinned by expert advice, during their visit to the stand.’

WonderTack and WonderTack Ghost are the latest innovative solutions that have been added to Fujifilm’s em range. WonderTack is a solvent printable, white satin gloss polypropylene film, and WonderTack Ghost is a clear PET media. Both adhere to smooth, flat surfaces without the use of adhesive, and are available for UV-curing and water-based systems.

These environmentally friendly solutions are very quick to print, and their sticking ability is down to the unique, micro-porous suckers on the adhering side. The lack of adhesive gives these media their ‘green’ characteristics, as well as making them reusable on multiple occasions. For example, POS graphics printed on WonderTack can be applied even by inexperienced users as it is easily repositionable and reusable.

SmoothWall and StarWall are PVC-free, 190g fleece wallpapers. They are easy to apply, fire retardant in accordance with DIN EN 13501, and can even be dry-removed without leaving residue. StarWall is completely unique with a discretely structured surface design, and both wallpapers have a special finish to ensure photorealistic image reproduction.

During Viscom, visitors can also see Fujifilm’s process independent colour control system, ‘Pro-File’, which was recently launched at FESPA 2010 in Munich. Utilising its understanding of colour chemistry, Fujifilm has designed a system to allow screen printers to deliver consistent colour output and optimise production efficiencies across both screen and inkjet technologies to deliver the wide variety of print demanded by customers in the 21st century.
The ability to control colour independent of printing device location, substrate, printing method, ink or people will enable printers to have complete confidence that the colour of every single job for any brand will always match, and at the right price point.

The Pro-File system is a package of products and services that synchronises print output between processes to a recognised industry standard. This enables printers to deliver consistent colour and quality print output across proofs, screen and digital print through process-independent colour control, providing users with a flexible, cost-effective solution to meet the increasing demands for print to comply with ISO 12647-2 (FOGRA 39).
