VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS AFRICA 2010 A HUGE SUCCESS
The 2010 Visual Communications show, held from 8 - 10 September at the Sandton Convention Centre, was a resounding success. 5 550 visitors made their way through the gates over the course of what was a frenetic three days. This figure comprised both local and international guests, both young and old.

EXPAND A SIGN TAKES FLIGHT AT VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS AFRICA
Thirteen years ago Expand a Sign changed the face of outdoor branding when it invented the teardrop-shaped Flying Banner, as well as the folding A-Frame. The eye-catching shape of the Flying Banner, great print quality and workmanship revolutionised the indoor and outdoor branding market.

PRISMAFLEX EXPERT ATTENDS VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS SHOW
Peter Kristoffersson from Primaflex Sweden answered questions about the Trivision (Three Message Signs) during the Visual Communications Show. Kristoffersson also met with the country's leading Out Of Home advertising companies prior to the show. With over twenty years experience in this field, Peter has been an integral part of the worldwide success of the Trivision.

ART OF DESIGN WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Antalis South Africa hosted the 12th Art of Design bi-annual Awards event at the Johannesburg Country Club on 19 August 2010 with an impressive exhibition of all 750 design pieces entered.  

EXPLORE DIGITAL GARMENT DECORATION AT SGIA EXPO
Discover the latest innovations in digital garment technology at the Digital Apparel Production Zone during the 2010 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, October 13-15). Staffed by industry experts, this sales-free Expert Advice Zone features hands-on demonstrations of digital applications for the garment decorating community.

VISCOM TEC CONFERENCE A CUSTOMER FOCUSED EXPERIENCE
Under the slogan 'Create customer focused experience with technology' speakers and participants at the viscom tec.10 conference in Frankfurt/Main will explore these issues. Following its successful premiere last year in Dusseldorf, this will already be the second viscom tec conference and will again precede viscom, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication. It will take place one day before the start of the fair, on 3 November 2010, at the 'Farbenfabrik' in Frankfurt.

SAMSUNG TURNS TO WIDEOPEN PLATFORM TO ADVERTISE THE WORLD'S FIRST 3D LED TV
Primedia Unlimited's larger than life outdoor advertising company, Wideopen Platform, has been chosen by Samsung to share the news that 3D TV is in the country and available for sale. The branding campaign will run until the end of January 2011 at the Cape Town International Airport, mainly targeting upper LSM men of the new C7000 3D LED TV. 

TLC WASHROOM TESTER UNITS RENEWED
Unilever has renewed its partnership with TLC, enabling consumers to sample Lifebuoy Liquid Soap through TLC's Washroom Tester Unit (WTU). Unilever was one of the first manufacturers to endorse the WTU when it was first launched in 2009, and believes the renewed contract has confirmed the medium effectiveness.  

PARTNERSHIP ENSURES NOTHING GETS PAST THE KEEPER
Durex ensured nothing 'slipped past the keeper' by using TLC's Digital Mirror Media, Door Wraps and Airport Washroom Frames during a campaign that ran during the world cup.  

TLC POWERS ENERGY SAVING CAMPAIGN
Eskom has signed up with Primedia Unlimited washroom advertising specialist, TLC, again. The recommitment comes as a result of the extensive reach of advertising frames inside shopping malls, sports bars and airports.

TLC SECURES IMMUNACE LADIES CAMPAIGN 
TLC has won the Vitabiotics business to execute a national drive for Immunace, an immune booster product. The company is poised to target ladies only through its advertising space in cinema washrooms. The campaign will be linked to an SMS competition line and enables Vitabiotics to measure the response to the campaign, while building awareness of Immunance among its core target market (female vitamin takers in LSM 7 – 10).

ENO TUMS GETS TLC TREATMENT
Primedia Unlimited washroom advertising specialist, TLC, has been selected to communicate and generate awareness for Eno Tums, in association with Pharmaceutical manufacturer GSK and media agency Notabene. The campaign will feature in the country's top malls nationwide for a period of six months.

FISHER TEXTILES LAUNCHES ENVIRO FABRICS
US based Fisher Textiles, a leading supplier of fabrics for digital printing, has added three new fabrics to its Green fabric line. These include Enviro-Tex Plus fabrics for dye sublimation and UV printing. Enviro-Tex Plus fabrics are eco-friendly and made from 100% Repreve yarn and 100% Post Consumer Waste.

GRAPH'IT SYSTEM NOW IN SA
The GRAPH'IT dryposting system comes in kit form and can be fitted to any wood or steel face panel. It offers quick and easy glue-free posting for printed faces from the foot of the display. The poster is fitted to the hoisting rail then raised to the top of the sign. Using the pole, the poster is simply fixed to the hooks to ensure quick and easy posting in just 6 minutes for a 4m x 3m face. Removing the poster is even simpler. The hoisting rail is lowered and the poster removed in just 1 minute! 

CONDE INTRODUCES NEW TRANSFER PAPER

HANDY TIP: DUPLICATE A SHAPE USING THE ROTATE TOOL

The rotate tool is one of the most important tools in Illustrator. To duplicate a shape using the rotate tool, first select the shape if not selected and then select the rotate tool.

Right now SmartHealth is deploying one screen per medical practice office, charging the practices nothing for the installation and making its money from selling advertising on the network. The network currently has upwards of 25 screens in Milwaukee, as well as smaller groupings in Chicago, Indianapolis and New York, and is making a push in Los Angles, Charlotte, N.C., and South Florida.

ITS Enclosures, a manufacturer of outdoor housing units for digital signage screens, has been testing and rolling out a new proprietary cooling system for its ViewStation products in the US. 

DIGITAL AD SCREENS BOOST TIMBERLAND SALE
Primall Media implemented a Digital Ad Screen campaign to alert shoppers of rugged outdoor brand, Timberland’s August Sale. The digital campaign took to shopping centres housing Timberland stores countrywide.
