The Printing Industries Federation of South Africa has a long history of service to the printing sector. PIFSA has also recognised that in an industry as diverse as ours, there is always the need for special interest groups to cater for diverse training requirements, processes and material usage, modes of operation and final end products.

SIGN-A-RAMA HANDLES GOLF DAY BRANDING NEEDS
In 2009, Sign-A-Rama Midrand were invited by the organisers of the Jacaranda Good Morning Angels Golf Day to handle the branding needs of the event. The company could not resist the opportunity to be involved and climbed in.

XANITA MATERIALS USED AT VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS AFRICA
Xanita collaborated with Viscom Africa for the International Sign Africa and Visual Communications show, which was held at Sandton Convention Centre in Gauteng from 8-10 September. 

VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS SUCCESS FOR RIGHT STUFF
According to Bianca Augustyn, Right Stuff Project Co-ordinator, Visual Communications Africa 'was a very nice experience. It was the first time I visited or exhibited. It was a very successful show for Right Stuff and especially for our new Green Brand Energy division, Overpass.'

HP LATEX TECHNOLOGY PROMINENT AT VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS AFRICA
Almost all of the technologies used today to create attractive, eye-catching signage, both for indoor and outdoor use, come at a cost to both the environment and the people that operate the equipment. Head of Brand Marketing at Sytech Supplies, Arthur Charles Van Wyk, rose to the occasion to help business people understand the world’s largest social network, Facebook, during Visual Communications Africa 2010.

VISCOM ITALIA DRAWS EVER CLOSER
The International appointment for the entire market of visual communication is rapidly approaching, with preparations in full swing for Viscom Italia 2010, which runs from 21 - 23 October at the Milan Fairground in Italy.

PRIMEDIA UNLIMITED LAUNCHES BRANDYOURCAR.COM
Primedia Unlimited has announced the launch of brandyourcar.com – a moving media initiative, which connects consumer lifestyles with leading brands, products and services. Brandyourcar.com offers advertisers the opportunity to brand privately owned vehicles, selected from a database of individuals who made their vehicles available for branding. The consumer’s vehicle then becomes the medium as a moving billboard within targeted audience communities and lifestyles.

CLARION LAUNCHES MOVING MEDIA DIVISION
Clarion Printed Products has launched Clarion Moving Media in Johannesburg. The division is directed at the vehicle and fleet branding market and opened on 1 September 2010. Launching a dedicated fleet and vehicle branding division is Clarion’s answer to a massive demand for vehicle and fleet branding.

TLC PROMOTES ONLINE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
TLC has been commissioned to expose online shopping experience, nnun, to 18 – 40 year-old high-end fashion conscious women across the country. 'The campaign will flight on our Mirror Media platforms and fashion frames in 80 Style Bars and Nightlife venues in Soweto, which perfectly complements nnuu’s fashion styled artwork, says TLC’s Brett Tucker.

PRIMALL MEDIA ATTRACTS UPMARKET CLIENTELE
Charles Greig Jewellers' latest advertising campaign, brought to Hyde Park shopping centre by Primall Media’s innovative mall media platforms, is set to capture consumer attention from September 2010 to January 2011. High income male and female consumers shopping at Hyde Park will be introduced to Charles Greig Jewellers as soon as they enter the parkade where a Primall parkade lightbox displays the upmarket creative. 

HYUNDAI EXTENDS WIDEOPEN CONTRACT
Hyundai has renewed its airbridges contract at Cape Town International Airport (CIA) through Primedia Unlimited subsidiary, Wideopen Platform. The initial three month contract with the media owner will be extended by another six months.

SOFTLIPS® ADVERTISING DEAL AWARDED TO TLC
Mentholatum approached Primedia Unlimited’s washroom advertising division, TLC, to attract teenage girls in busy cinemas to its Softlips Stylista Competition. Working with the flavoured, glossy lip protector range for the second year running, TLC will implement a two-month campaign in 37 ladies washroom’s around the country. 

AIRTEL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ROCKS SOUTH AFRICA
The Airtel Champions League Twenty20 cricket recently rocked South Africa for the first time. Ticket sales were of paramount importance and, thanks to four of Wideopen’s strategically located, large-format outdoor advertising sites, they were in constant demand. 

SKECHERS AWARENESS UP THANKS TO TLC
Women living an active lifestyle and frequenting Planet Fitness gyms have had their attention drawn to the new Skechers Shape-ups, a shoe that aids in toning and weight loss simply through walking. 

MEDIA PLATFORM TARGETS AFRIKAANS MARKET
DGB has taken complete ownership of a number of TLC’s innovative media platforms to generate awareness for its energy shooter, Potency (Po10C), for the next year. As stated by Brett Tucker, the Primedia Unlimited subsidiary has designed a specific media holding geared towards the Afrikaans market for the duration of the twelve-month campaign. 

ZAPPA SAMBUCA COMMITS FOR FOURTH YEAR
DGB, South Africa's largest independent wine and spirit producer and distributor, has awarded TLC the Zappa Sambuca adverting business for the fourth year. Zappa has secured TLC’s network of washroom advertising platforms in on-consumption environments including Nightlife venues, Sports Bars and University Campuses to strategically reach millions of consumers each month. 

AFFLUENT WOMEN TARGETED THROUGH ABSA VEHICLE FINANCE
According to Primall Media’s Lee Curtis, ABSA Vehicle Finance is its latest client to include Primall’s Parkade packages as part of its marketing mix. 'The bank recently signed on for five of our Parkade Packages, each consisting of an average of eight light boxes at Brooklyn, Cavendish Square, Gateway, Hyde Park and Sandton City shopping centres,' he says.

STARCOM FLEXES COUTURE MUSCLE
The Starcom team walked away with top honours at the Continental Outdoor Flex Face Fashion Show recently. The event invited media agencies to creatively transform billboard vinyl into couture and showcase the essence of client brands at the same time.
